We have put together a calendar of events to take place through the whole season, hopefully something for everyone. A lot of these events will have limited numbers, so if interested please put your names down early. If you do not have transport, for any of these events, this can be arranged.
WALKING TOUR OF HISTORIC SITES OF PORTSMOUTH –
SUNDAY 22ND OCTOBER 11.OO
Want a flavour of what Portsmouth has to offer from its Roman origins to the present day, then join this tour, which will last around 90 minutes with the focus on its people and their stories of life, love and loss. – Price £5pp
SOUTHWICK HOUSE – ROYAL MILITARY POLICE MUSEUM & D DAY MAP ROOM
THURSDAY 23RD NOVEMBER 11.00AM – 1.00P.M. (FOLLOWED BY OPTIONAL PUB LUNCH)
The museum traces the story of the Military Police, with each room covering a different time period. Explore the changing face from its origins on horseback to today’s motorcyclists, crime scene investigators and computer experts.
Together with a visit to General Eisenhower’s Second World War forward HQ in the Victorian stately home that is Southwick House, with its huge wooden D-Day map that was used to Plan Operation Overlord. Discover the amazing secrets behind the epic story of the Normandy landings. – Price £10 pp
GHOST TOUR OF HISTORIC SPICE ISLAND – Whoooooo

Spice Island is a place of sin, a place of degradation, every sin known to man, woman and dog is available for a price.
Join in this evening exploring the dark underworld of smugglers, pirates and prostitutes. You will hear the dark stories of history that lay hidden beneath the streets of Portsmouth.

BOOK LAUNCH – SATURDAY 23RD MARCH – 4.00P.M.
COMMENCING WITH TOUR OF THE HISTORIC INNS & BREWERIES OF TITCHFIELD
Visit the sites of the original Inns and Breweries of Titchfield, stopping for more information at the 3 remaining public houses within the village, take in the atmosphere whilst learning a few tales of old – culminating at The Bugle for refreshments and book collection.

WALKING TOUR OF OLD SOUTHAMPTON – SUNDAY 21ST APRIL – 10.30A.M. – 12.30A.M
Visit the important sites of old Southampton that we learnt about at a talk by Andrew Negus last season. Andrew will be our Guide on this tour, bringing life to what we originally heard about.

BIG EVENT TO START THE SUMMER WITH
THE NORMANS COME TO TITCHFIELD ABBEY – 2nd JUNE 2024 – DAY EVENT
See what life was like at the time the Abbey was built. Take a stroll through the Middle Ages and experience this world of Norman life.
A living encampment set up within the ground of Titchfield Abbey with cooking, medieval crafting, combats, together with a peak into the world of a medieval doctors, a world of inks and parchment, the Bishops Court, and plenty for the children including ‘have a go archery, medieval games, train to be a knight and lots more. – Price to be advised.
